Aramco Half Marathon 2019 #1 of 12 for 2019

Aramco Half Marathon 2019 #1 of 12 for 2019

My first half marathon of 2019!  Most of my half marathons for 2019 will be in New Mexico, since I live there, but my first one is in Houston, Tx.  I flew to Houston with my husband and kids to see my family and to run the race. My aunt and uncle even ran the race! There was a cold front coming in so the weather was colder for Houston than normal.  It was about 35 degrees Fahrenheit when I started the race. My main goal of the race is to always just finish, but I also wanted to get a time under 2 hours.   This race is one of the largest races I have ran in with about 25,000 runners.

The gun went off right around the scheduled 7 am time, but I didn’t cross the start until about 20 minutes after the race started.  The bib you where for the race has a smart chip in it so your time for the race doesn’t start until you cross the start line.

I got to see my family around mile 8, cheering for me.  It’s always fun to see people cheering for you along the race.

The weather during the race remained cool with about a 7 mph wind.  The course was flat and at sea level ( a plus for me!). I was overall happy with my race time.

1 of 12 halves done with a time of 1:55:06.
